Mental Health seminars in Chernivtsi
October 22, 2024
The first two Mental Health seminars in Chernivtsi, Ukraine, organized by MdM-Greece as part of the “Beyond Trauma: Scaling Up Community Mental Health Care for Children and Youth at Risk in Ukraine’s Conflict-Affected Communities” project, have been successfully completed.
During these seminars, 34 medical and non-medical professionals received training in two key methodologies: “Problem Management Plus (PM+)” and “mhGAP Training.” These methodologies are designed to equip participants with the skills needed to provide mental health services in crisis situations, supporting Ukraine’s ongoing efforts to reform its mental health system in line with modern scientific standards.
“Beyond Trauma” program aims to strengthen Ukraine’s mental health service infrastructure, reduce barriers to accessing care, and enhance the well-being of affected communities. MdM-Greece continues its work to support the Ukrainian population, with a particular focus on vulnerable groups such as young people, women, and war veterans, who continue to bear the impact of the ongoing conflict.
